Why do people want to keep sex offenders off Facebook?

I just noticed some psychotic friend of mine put this up on Facebook.

I'm just kind of sick of this sex offender crap. Like someone said, if you're too much of a threat to society to be free, you should be in prison. I've heard the terrible stories of guys getting caught peeing outside a house party, touching a woman while they were drunk, and being forced to register as sex offenders FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE! That's SO DUMB!

Now, they want to keep these people off of Facebook, possibly the internet?

How stupid are people in this country?
